Safety recommendations
The Navy asked regional and local governments, as well as port captains and companies, to implement preventive measures to ensure the safety of the population. Recommended actions include:
- Suspension of port and fishing activities.
- Secure the ships and tow the small fleets to dry land.
- Restrict access to bathers, artisanal fishermen and water sportsmen to affected beaches.
The National Institute of Civil Protection (Indeci) reinforced these recommendations and called on the population to act with caution and avoid unnecessary risks during these days of abnormal waves.
