Congress creates two universities in Tacna and Huánuco

In the first session of the year, Congressional Standing Committee adopted several initiatives focused on educational development. Among the most obvious measures is the creation of two new universities: one in Tacna and another in Huánuco.

The bill was approved to establish these two universities in the south and center of the country, adding to the 21 universities approved in December 2023, at the end of the previous legislature. This measure aims to decentralize higher education, offering greater opportunities to the youth of Tacna and Huánuco.

The prosecution has intervened in the office of the Legal Area of ​​the Congress of the Republic regarding the suspected case of the prostitution network. The police of the Human Trafficking Division also participate in this procedure in order to receive testimonies, collect evidence and investigate the facts.

As it is known, the former head of the Legal and Constitutional Office of the Congress, Jorge Torres Saravia, is being investigated for his suspected involvement in a network of pimps.
