About the Regenstrief Institute
Founded in 1969 in Indianapolis,Regenstrief Instituteis a local, national and global leader committed to a world where better information empowers people to end disease and realize true health. A key research partner of Indiana University, Regenstrief and its research scientists are responsible for a growing number of major health care innovations and studies. Examples range from developing global health information technology standards that enable the use and interoperability of electronic health records to improving patient-physician communication, to creating models of care that inform clinical practice and improve the lives of patients around the globe.

Sam Regenstrief, a nationally successful entrepreneur from Connersville, Indiana, founded the institute with the goal of making health care more efficient and accessible for all. His vision continues to guide the institute’s research mission.

About ACMI
ACMI is an honorary College of Informatics members elected from the United States and abroad who have made significant and lasting contributions to the field of medical informatics and who have faced rigorous scientific peer review.

About AMIA
MOTHER®(American Society of Medical Informatics®) is a community dedicated to the vision of a world where informatics transforms people’s care. Over the past 35 years, the use of informatics has grown exponentially to improve health and make better health care decisions. Today, informatics is key to accelerating current health reform goals. Every day millions of people benefit from informatics’ ability to accelerate healthcare transformation by collecting, analyzing and applying data directly to care decisions. The data produced across health and healthcare is the driving force behind informatics and its ability to innovate critical advances that directly benefit people. AMIA members are critical to the discovery of this knowledge, which is why AMIA is committed to being the professional home for today’s computer scientists and the leader of the future of computing.
