Forbes names Delta Dental of California one of America’s Best Employers for Women in 2023

SAN FRANCISCO, October 20, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Delta Dental of California and Affiliates, the leading provider of dental insurance serving more than 45 million members, has been named one of America’s Best Employers for Women for 2023 by Forbes magazine. This prestigious award, presented by Forbes, recognizes 400 American companies that are admired by employees for their commitment to women in their workforce and diverse representation throughout the organization.

Based on the results of the study, Delta Dental is honored to be recognized in the 34th place in Forbes List of Best Employers for Women 2023.

of Forbes The best employers for women were identified in an independent survey of a large sample of more than 60,000 American employees who work for companies that employ at least 1,000 people in United States. The sample included more than 40,000 women.

The assessment was based on four different criteria:

1. Direct recommendations – (general topics of work): Employees were asked to give their opinion on a series of statements about their employer’s atmosphere and development, image, working conditions, salary and wages, workplace and diversity.
2. Direct recommendations – (topics related to women): To focus on topics that are generally most important to women, women were asked to rate their employers on parental leave, family support, flexibility, discrimination, representation and career and pay equity.
3. Indirect recommendations: Participants were given the opportunity to rate other employers in their respective industries that stand out positively or negatively with respect to diversity. Only women’s recommendations were considered.
4. Diversity among senior executives / board: Based on extensive research, an index was constructed based on the percentage of women in executive or board leadership positions. Statista researched this data for each company using publicly available company information.
