Many Americans put off dental care for financial reasons.
The closing of capital region dental clinics has left more than 4,000 patients without care, according to the New York State Dental Association.

This Saturday, the association is partnering with Hudson Valley Community College, Kare and the New York State Dental Foundation to host Capital Region Community Dental Eventproviding free dental health screenings and services to community members at the HVCC campus in Troy.
“Patients who participate in this event will actually be tracked, to see, we will provide dental home for them; and then we track to see how many of them will follow up to access the dental home on a regular basis over the next year. or two. During the event, patients can receive x-rays, extractions, treatment diagnosis and pain management instructions. Two Kare mobile dental vans will be deployed for those who may need emergency care.
