According to the parent, the dentist decided to remove the tooth after seeing in a dental mirror that it was separated and also that it was causing the child pain.

At the moment, the authorities have not commented on the matter, however, It is learned that the case is being investigated, while the results of the autopsy will show what will happen to the dentist.

Likewise, it is learned that the burial of the girl, who was in the third grade at the Alfonso Palacio Rudas school in Honda, Tolima, took place last Sunday, August 6.

“We will not blame the dentist because we must first wait to see what the autopsy says,” said the minor’s mother.

Toothache concerns are one of the most common reasons people go to dental emergencies. Depending on the diagnosis and severity of the situation, the professional may decide between ordering pain relievers, cleaning the area, or removing the tooth and adding a new one.

According to the media Clarin, The deceased answered the name of Diego Soto, a resident of the city of Villa Regina, who, due to a sharp toothache, went to one of the hospitals in the urban center to get an accurate diagnosis. However, the doctors gave the young man an injection and he returned home.

However, as the hours passed, everything got worse according to the deceased’s girlfriend, Abril Suarez, who said: “At around 11.30pm we went to bed and then he woke up scared and told me he couldn’t move . I sat him down on the bed and there he fainted. “He was conscious and lucid, and we even spoke to his parents.”

Seeing the young man’s seriousness, the family called the ambulance, but seeing that a lot of time had passed, they took young Diego to the hospital himself. During the trip, the man was conscious but could not move, his girlfriend said.

Suarez also added: “My mother-in-law and I were left waiting for the guard’s answer. Around 6 o’clock I went out and the doctor and the nurse told me that Diego had become unemployed.” After 20 minutes, the professionals told the two women: “We did everything possible, but he did not overcome the cardiac arrest,” confirming the young man’s death.

After the announcement of Diego’s death, the family members denounced the hospital for poor medical treatment of the young man. The boy’s partner said: “(Diego) was healthy. They had done all the studies to enter the company. He liked to play sports, he biked and he liked to run, he was a very active person.”

Relatives also reported problems when they requested an autopsy on Diego’s body, because the toothache is not associated with acute pulmonary edema, which, according to doctors, was the cause of Diego’s death: “We never told him that they explained his paralysis , or anything that might have happened to him. We believe there has been misuse. We made a complaint and asked for an autopsy, which at first the doctor did not want to do and told us that the Hospital would not take care of it.”

The case fell into the hands of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which through information published in the local Río Negro media stated: “Now we have to do subsequent analysis, and for this, samples have already been taken for toxicological and histological studies.”.

The public body of the province of Río Negro also stated: “We are the first to want to know what happened. And that is why we await the results of the autopsy to know the reasons that led to the death of the resident of Villa Regina.”
