it Public Ministry formalized the appointment of prosecutor Fany Soledad Quispe Farfán as the new national coordinator of the Specialized Prosecutions against Organized Crime. The resolution published in the Bulletin of Legal Standards of the Official Newspaper El Peruano cancels the appointment of the prosecutor. Jorge Chavez Cotrinawho held the post since 2015.
Fany Quispe Farfán takes on new leading roles
In addition to her new position, Quispe Farfán was appointed head of the Office of Coordination and Liaison of Specialized Prosecutions for Crimes of Illegal Drug Trafficking. In this role, he will be responsible for coordinating with the Narcotics Affairs Section (NAS) and with DEA of the United States Embassy, as well as with other institutions involved in the fight against drug trafficking.
This appointment is in addition to his function as senior prosecutor of the Second High National Specialized Prosecutor’s Office against Organized Crime from Lima.
Resolution of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Nation No. 001-2025-MP-FN, signed by the Nation’s Prosecutor, Delia Espinoza Valenzuela, marks the end of a nearly decade-long run by Chavez Cotrina. The change reflects a strategic restructuring in the prosecutions that fight the most complex crimes in the country.
