As he could know Businessthe proceedings were organized for a period of 90 days and so far no date has been set to receive the statement from the congressman of Somos Perú, who was suspended as a member of that party.
Jerí Oré, along with the involved Marco Antonio Cardoza Hurtado, were denounced by a 31-year-old woman, who claims that the two took part in the sexual assault against her.

Among the regulated procedures, the Public Ministry called the complainant’s sister and also Cardoza to testify.
The prosecution has also communicated to the Supreme Court of Preparatory Investigation, the action as advanced evidence, that the complainant goes to the Gesell Chamber. This, with the participation of the District Assistance Unit for Victims and Witnesses.
The events would have happened on December 30, 2024 when the parliamentarian attended a social meeting in a house in Huaral, together with his defendant, the complainant and other people.
Through a statement, the prosecutor’s office announced that relevant statements are being taken and that specialized expertise will be carried out.
Jerí and the questions against him
It is not the first time that congressman José Jerí is involved in a scandal involving aggression against a woman. In August 2024, according to a report from Punto Final, Jerí Oré would have called the ex-partner of Marco Antonio Campos Márquez – a former employee of the office of congresswoman Norma Yarrow – to question her about filing a complaint of physical violence and psychological against the parliamentary employee.
According to the victim’s complaint, the Somos Perú congressman told her that she would be the “main victim” if she continued with the complaint. This is considered an act of “threat” by the complainant.
In September 2021, Jerí Oré also had the wrong words regarding the public complaint made by congresswoman Patricia Chirinos, against her colleague Guido Bellido, after he verbally attacked her saying: “now they just have to rape you”.
Jerí, who was present at the meeting where the events took place, said he did not remember it, but later claimed he took it as a “bad joke”.
“I don’t remember the details of what he said, but they were wrong at the time. “I took it as a bad joke,” he said afterwards.
In February 2022, the congressman was caught at a party held in a bar in Miraflores, without a mask and without respecting the health protocols established by the Government for COVID-19, which were still in force at the time.
That same year, in August, Somos Perú removed him as a representative member of the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations (SAC) after Jerí Oré voted to abstain when the opposition sought to replace Congressman Edgar Raymundo (Democratic Change), associated with Pedro’s government Castillo, who was the relator of the constitutional complaint against the then Vice President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte.
Congressman Jerí Oré has also been investigated by the General Prosecutor’s Office, for the alleged commission of the crime of improper passive bribery and the suspected author of influence peddling, as he is involved together with a group of congressmen who would have been captured by ex- the public prosecutor, Patricia Benavides, to achieve the disqualification of the prosecutor Zoraida Ávalos.
Confirms participation in the meeting, but denies sexual assault
During a press conference, Congressman José Jerí admitted that he had attended and invited a group of friends to a social meeting held on December 30, 2024.
However, the MP denied sexually assaulting the complainant, whose name has not been released.
“I was not the person who committed that act. The elements that I can provide and that the witnesses will give at that time and the statements of the complainant himself, will have a logic and a statement in which it is confirmed both by the biological evidence, by the testimony of the witnesses and by other elements, that my person was not.”
The congressman claimed the other person reported was his friend, but not a “lifelong friend.” However, he admitted that he invited both the complainant and the other defendant to the meeting, as they were friends.
Jerí also denied having romantically pursued the alleged victim, as she testified in her complaint. He added that during the meeting he was accompanied by another woman, who also arrived at the meeting and with whom he is starting a relationship.
The congressman said that during the meeting he was in the pool, then he cooked on the grill and lost eye contact with the complainant and the co-defendant.
For this reason, he claimed that he did not know how one of his clothes (a sleeveless polo shirt) got to the room where the sexual assault would have taken place, attributing it to a deliberate and “premeditated” act.
“What I can say is that the person who took my polo shirt, who was at the side of the pool, and took it to the room where the complaining lady finally appears, did so with premeditation and intent, and that should be life. clarified at the tax office.”
José Jerí, congressman of the Republic.
He assured that he will cooperate with the tax investigation and also announced that he has sent a letter to the Parliamentary Ethics Commission to start another political investigation.
Ricardo Caldas, lawyer for Congressman José Jerí, said Business that at the first moment they appeared in the investigation, as in the Huaura prosecutor’s office, then in the Canta prosecutor’s office and; finally to the High Family Prosecutor’s Office, which took over the case, due to his sponsor’s status as a high official.
When consulted, the lawyer indicated that the investigation is in the high prosecutor’s office and the statement of Congressman José Enrique Jerí has not yet been made available, as this will be determined after the proceedings of the Gesell Chamber are completed.
“We have officially communicated that we will participate in all procedures, we will cooperate with all investigations and everything that is required to reveal the truth.
The criminalist emphasizes that “it is a case with some similarities” to that of the convicted Freddy Díaz.
Criminal lawyer Luis Lamas Puccio emphasized that the investigation against the congressman, José Jerí, is currently preliminary and will serve to verify the facts defined in the complaint.
For this reason, it was considered to call witnesses to the event, perform forensic and toxicological expertise, provide video and, if necessary, reconstruct the events.
Freddy Diaz Monaco
The former congressman is convicted of rape
Former congressman Freddy Díaz Monago was convicted up to 13 years and 4 months in prison after being declared responsible of the sexual assault of an employee in his congressional office on July 27, 2022, a fact that was reported by the victim the next day to the Public Ministry.
The then congressman took advantage of the fact that his injured former worker lost consciousness due to drunkenness, in circumstances where both were sharing alcoholic beverages inside the office designated by the Congress of the Republic for the former deputy, who then . sexually assaulted her.
At this stage, he explained, information will be gathered to determine if there are sufficient elements of punishment and then the prosecution will decide whether or not to formalize a preparatory investigation.
“To do this, they present the case to the Congress of the Republic to remove the parliamentary immunity; After that, the preparatory investigation is formalized and at this stage coercive measures can be requested, for example preventive detention”, he said.
Lamas Puccio emphasized that this is a serious complaint, as a sexual violation by a congressman is being investigated; and this can be further complicated if aggravating factors are determined. Therefore, it must be assessed whether it was committed with violence or in a state of unconsciousness, since according to this punishments can be imposed from 10 to 15 years in prison.
In this regard, he recalled, the case is similar to that of former congressman Freddy Díaz Monago, who was sentenced to 13 years and 4 months in prison for the crime of sexual rape committed against an employee in his office, in July . 2022.
“It is a case with some similarities (to that of Freddy Díaz), because it is nothing less than a high public official, a congressman, who is not an ordinary citizen, who represents the nation, who must have impeccable behavior . And it will all depend, because there are circumstances that make things worse, for example, being unconscious or if you were given a sleeping pill. All this will help the prosecution to determine what kind of crimes against sexual freedom are involved, because they are serious crimes, since if it is rape, we are talking about a prison sentence of 10 to 15 years”.
