The challenge of mystery solving and criminal justice is a popular topic for fiction, but how does dental forensics really help in modern investigations? Find out at an expert presentation at 2 p.m., Sunday, October 8, at the Windmill Cultural Center, 111 10th Avenue Fulton, across from the authentic Dutch windmill. Volunteer millers will host Traci (VanderPloeg) Kraemer, a current dental assistant, who will explain the role of forensic medicine in the field of dentistry.

Traci has over 30 years in the dental industry and is currently working in a general dental practice in Normal, IL. She attended dental courses. While some historical crimes and mass casualty cases will be discussed, the presentation itself is not bitter and will provide an overview of this fascinating area of ​​interest.

Programming is free and open to the public. A light refreshment will be served after the presentation.
