The government of In Boluarte announced the name of 2025 as “The Year of Recovery and Consolidation of the Peruvian Economy” through Supreme Decree No. 149-2024-PCM, which is national in scope and governs from January 1 to December 31.
This legal norm was published on December 31, 2024, in the Official Gazette El Peruano, which bears the signature of the President of the Republic and the President of the Council of Ministers, Gustavo Adrianzén Olaya.
It should be remembered that, according to the state, it was former President Fernando Belaúnde Terry who ordered in 1963 that the government in power assign an official name every year in order to use it mandatorily by all institutions and entities public that make the rise of power in official documents during the next 12 months.

To choose the official name of the year in Peru, ministries and public entities will make their proposalsOnce they are all available, the current president, in this case Dina Boluarte, will choose the one related to the economic, political and social situation of our country, although it can also be related to a prominent person or important event.
