Omaha dental business hosts a free dental day

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) – Smiles from the Heart – it’s in its name – a dental business that hopes to make sure everyone has the opportunity to feel better.

The Free Dental Day organized by Premier Dental brought out around 65 volunteers to help people across the metro. It is the first year since the pandemic. Before the pandemic, the event lasted for at least six years.

Organizers say the beauty of the event is that anyone can come in to get extracts or refills. It was a base for the first service. All that was needed was basic health information.

Hoping to create more smiles, they hope they can make this an annual event.

“What we’re trying to do is just give access to people who wouldn’t otherwise have dental care,” said Dr. Dan Beninato with Premier Dental. “Those people who are living with infections or mouth pain, trying to take care of them… without having to put a financial burden on them and cut their costs.”

Staff members from Omaha Oral Surgery and others were also on hand to help with the event.
