Case selection and study design
To evaluate the effect of this new electric toothbrush with rotating oscillating technology and its new specialized cleaning head, we chose patients who met the following eligibility selection criteria with the criteria defined in the last World Periodontology Workshop: patients with bleeding > 20%, but no bone loss or adhesion around teeth or implants; patients with stable periodontitis that is determined by the health of the gingiva in a reduced periodontium; and implant patients who suffered from periodontitis. Patients with peri-implantitis were excluded.
