A serious traffic accident on the Panamericana Sur left five people injured this morning, in the border area between the Lima districts of San Juan de Miraflores and Surco.
The accident occurred between the Atocongo and Alipio bridges, causing heavy traffic jams in the north-south direction.
The incident involved five vehicles, including a black car that was completely destroyed between two trailers, according to RPP.
The accident occurred when the car, which was traveling in the lane designated for heavy vehicles, was hit by two trailers both from the front and from behind. Two other trucks were also involved in the collision, including a total of five units.
As a result of the collision, five people were injured. They were treated at the scene and rushed to a nearby clinic to receive medical attention. Although no details have been given about the extent of the injuries, it has been confirmed that there were no casualties.
The crash caused major traffic jams in the area, affecting thousands of motorists traveling along the Panamericana Sur from north to south. Lima Route authorities went to the scene to carry out cleaning work on the affected lane, which allowed the partial restoration of traffic.
