According to the PDI, the expansion of university courses, through the creation of new courses, ensures the training of personnel in dimensions and fields that affect regional development and growth, mediating the introduction of the University into national and international contexts, as well as the formation of citizens and professionals capable of contributing to society.
It belongs to the University Council, based on Resolution No. 96-COU/UNICENTRO, dated December 30, 2011, already mentioned, to decide on new course offerings at Unicentro, based on new regional requirements and/or technical possibilities available at IES for this purpose. In this sense, the proposal for new courses, defined in the PDI, will continue to be under continuous study, based on consultations with pedagogical departments, knowledge sectors, campus management, deans and senior councils.
According to the current discussion of the State Council of Education, which standardizes, supervises, evaluates and regulates Higher Education in the state of Parana, it is allowed to offer high-tech courses, outside the headquarters, that are not included in the institution’s course program. under an extensionist regime, with the aim of promoting the development of entrepreneurial capacities and understanding of the technological process, as well as scientific-technological production and innovation and their respective applications in the world of work.
This discussion supports the context of Unicentro’s expansion plan, according to PDI, which includes high-tech courses, usually defined as technologists, aimed at the new demands of the socio-economic contexts of the regions covered by the IES.
The proposal of new university courses personally takes into consideration the consultation carried out with the pedagogic departments and the knowledge sectors, as well as the discussions, in the intermediate management councils, in the university campuses.
