The search for the perfect smile is growing more and more in Brazil. Dental contact lens fitting is among the three most requested aesthetic procedures by Brazilians, according to the Brazilian Society of Aesthetic Dentistry (SBOE). With a trend that started in 2014 but was slowed by the pandemic, the sector is now experiencing its peak.
Even the restrictions caused by Covid-19 were not able to completely disrupt the area. According to research by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), the global market for dental lenses and veneers will reach $1.55 billion in 2021. The trend continues. The forecast is for an achievement of $2.30 billion by 2028.
“After the pandemic, we had a boom for the entire aesthetic sector. During the restrictions, there was a moment when everyone stopped activity and reduced investment, but when that passed, we saw a lot of pent-up demand. I think people are starting to take better care of themselves, go to the dentist more, worry more about their health and appearance,” says dentist Daniel Fagundes (@dr.danielfagundes), from the dental institute that bears his name his and is one such. from the pioneers in contact lenses in Salvador.
For Fagundes, a dentist for 11 years and working in contact lenses for about seven years, the sector is experiencing its biggest moment. “Every year we see growth and here at the institute we have broken production records since 2020. We hope that this year will continue like this. We have many clients in Salvador, but also from other states and even other countries, and the idea is always to expand,” he says.
“It is an investment that those who make it recommend. Improving a person’s smile is affecting their self-esteem and quality of life. It is much more than an aesthetic procedure, it is transformative”, he concludes.
The Daniel Fagundes Institute is one of the sponsors Hello Hello Revelry, the carnival party held by Alô Alô Bahia this Thursday (9). “O Hello Hello Bahia Today it is the most important social and business portal in the country. We are always in partnership, walking together since the beginning of everything. Our ties only tend to strengthen”, emphasizes Fagundes.
