The Stanford ranking highlights the scientific output of 15 Spanish dentists

Madrid, October 23 (EFE).- A total of 15 Spanish dentists have been internationally recognized for their scientific excellence with the inclusion of 15 researchers in the list of the most important scientists at Stanford University (United States).

In a statement, the General Council of Colleges of Dentists of Spain has detailed that the University of California classification identifies the researchers with the most cited papers during their scientific career estimated between 1996-2022 and also during the last year 2023.

Thus, a database of more than 200,000 high-level scientists in various fields has been created, representing 2% of the most important researchers in the world, of which 1,746 belong to the world of dentistry.

As a year ago, the first in the list of Spanish scientists continues to be Eduardo Anitua, director of the University Institute of Regenerative Medicine and Oral Implantology (UIRMI), which also occupies a very prominent place in the global ranking of Dentistry, in positions of number 54 worldwide.

He is followed by Mariano Sanz, from the Complutense University of Madrid, placed in position 124, and among the top 1000 positions are also David Herrera (Complutense University), Miguel Ángel González-Moles (University of Granada), Cosme Gay-Escoda (University of Barcelona), Pía López-Jornet (University of Murcia), José Bagán (University of Valencia) and Manuel Toledano (University of Granada).
