Dr Sheila Nguyen explains why she is an early adopter of UNTIL and how the revolutionary space is shaking up dentistry for good.
Please introduce yourself
I’m Dr Sheila and I trained as a dentist almost 10 years ago. Now, I mainly work in facial aesthetics and medical aesthetics. And I train other dentists to be able to offer Facial Aesthetics very well as an adjunct to the dentistry they do.
I will be working with Dr Ads Thanki at DERI to bring dentistry into the realm. I will run both a dental office and a facial aesthetic practice at the DERI branch.
What will you use DERI for and how is it supporting your business?
The reason I’m an early adopter is because I want to get out there and do it. I really believe in this message to allow co-workers, healthcare professionals or self-employed freelancers to be able to do their thing. The world has changed.
Now, we’re doing a lot more for our marketing and our advertising. I have my own social media team and I’m still an affiliate. And that’s the way the world is moving.
So to have a space where there’s very minimal risk, where there’s very minimal investment and I can see my patients, that’s really exciting.
What excites you most about what UNTIL has to offer?
At UNTIL, you’ll be really exposed to many other types of healthcare professionals – personal trainers, physiotherapists, therapists – and that’s really exciting.
Much of what we do as cosmetic dentists aligns with people taking care of their health. Those patients who are truly passionate, focused and motivated – not only in how they feel, but also from a visual perspective. Having the ability to collaborate and work together with other professionals is extremely exciting.
It is this aspect that is one of the most thoughtful and exciting parts of DERI.
Plus, we have the flexibility to work as much or as little as possible without being signed to anything.
Why would you recommend DERI to a friend?
Absolutely. There is very little risk here – it costs nothing to set up and only requires a small amount of money to be able to go and have something that is yours. It’s a great place to start testing the waters if it’s the practice you’re working in that provides all the patients or if you’re the one providing all the patients.
It’s an opportunity to test something that you can grow without having to have all the contracts or leases. It also has a whole load of flexibility and gives you the chance to collaborate with other people – and all on your terms.
I highly recommend doing it. It’s an exciting space and you want to be one of the clinicians who do it early. That way, you can help shape the industry.
